Year of Sacred Music

Sacred Music LogoThroughout 2025, St. John Armenian Church will celebrate the Year of Sacred Music, a special initiative to deepen our understanding and appreciation of the hymns of the Divine Liturgy. Each hymn in our liturgy is rich with theology, history, and spiritual power—and this year, we will journey through them together.

On the first and third Sundays of every month, immediately following the Divine Liturgy, we will offer brief presentations to:

  • Explore the purpose and meaning of a specific hymn

  • Share historical and liturgical background

  • Provide handouts with translations, commentary, and musical notes

  • Practice the hymn together with the congregation
