Announcing James Martin Klijian Memorial Fund College Scholarship
St. John Armenian Church is proud to release the application for the James Martin Klijian Memorial Fund College Scholarship. This special scholarship was generously established by the Barkev and Beatrice Klijian Family in 1976 in loving memory of James Martin Klijian. Scholarships are available each year for the purpose of supporting the youth of St. John and encouraging participation youth activities.
St. John Armenian Church Celebrates Feast of Transfiguration
In the Armenian Church, the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated 98 days following Easter. The Feast also is known by the common name of “Vartavar”. Sunday, July 7, was a joyous day for St. John Family. Divine Liturgy was celebrated by guest celebrant and homilist Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan, and the over 100 strong congregation sang the sacrad hymns along with the choir. Following the spiritual message, the clergy and altar servers participated in a procession (tapor) around the church sprinkling water on the congregation.
Sunday School Culmination Celebrated
Sunday, June 16, 2013 was the last day of the St. John Sunday School 2012-2013 Academic year. Over 25 students attended the church service and sang hymns of the Divine Liturgy with the choir and congregation. Fr. Mesrop Ash welcomed all the students, praised them for attending Sunday School, and gave a special sermon. Following the sermon Mrs. Paula Boghossian along with Fr. Mesrop gave special gifts to the students as a token of appreciation.
Internship Opportunity for High School and College Students
Calling all High School and College students! St. John is inviting you to become an intern this Summer. You can gain practical work experience, help your community, and apply your time against your volunteer hours requirements at school. Work hours will be flexible according to your summer schedule, and can begin with a commitment of as little of six hours a week, beginning in July. Our office is a fun and relaxed place to work, and occasional outings will be planned for interns.

Honoring Mothers at St. John Armenian Church
Once again on Sunday, May 12, the men of St. John Mr. and Ms. Club, prepared delicious breakfast for our mothers. It was a great family atmosphere, more than 20 families came to honor their mothers and celebrate this meaningful day with their family and friends.
The men prepared and served breakfast with joy and pride, and the guests enjoyed the breakfast with their loved ones.
Announcing Camp Scholarships for 2013
St. John Armenian church is happy to release the Unified Camp Scholarship Application for 2013. It is a source of great spiritual joy for our community that many of our young people have applied and been accepted to participate in the Armenian Church Summer Camp of the Western Diocese. Through the generosity of various funds established with the purpose of sending young Armenians to Hye Camp, St. John is offering several scholarships to children and youth who have been active in the life of the parish.
Celebratory Concert Successfully Raises Funds for Music School
Saturday, April 27, St. John Sayat Nova Cultural Committee hosted a Celebratory and Benefit Concert to honor Rev. Fr. Mesrop Ash’s First Anniversary of his ordination to Holy priesthood. St. John Paul Family Hall was filled with parishioners from the entire Bay Area. Fr. Mesrop Ash welcomed everyone and after a prayer invited the performers to start the program.
