St. John Armenian Church’s Food Festival, a tradition almost three-quarters of a century strong, will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 22 - 23, 2016.
Each year more than 2,000 visitors sample exotic Armenian dishes, take home foods, gifts and participate in Armenian dancing and music.
Food favorites, available as dinners, ala carte and take out. Vegetarian delicacies include Imam Bayeldi, stuffed eggplants; Sarma, stuffed grape leaves; and Sou Boreg, a boiled baked dough filled with cheese. Meat dishes include Shish Kebab, Luleh Kebab, Chicken Skewers and Kufta, a meatball within a meatball. Delicious desserts like Kadaif, shredded dough with a sweet filling, Paklava and Choreg, a slightly sweet dessert, will be available throughout the day.
